Welcome to North Ryde Public School
We’re here to do everything we can as a P&C to warmly welcome new families and support you as you prepare for your child’s start at North Ryde Public.
For more information about our school, you can visit the school website.
WhatsApp Group for parents and carers
Class WhatsApp groups help parents and carers at North Ryde Public School stay connected, share information, and build community. They’re a place to get to know other families, ask questions, swap tips, and even organise casual catch-ups.

These groups are private and exclusively for parents/carers of children in a particular year group. They’re facilitated by current NRPS parents who are active members of the school’s P&C, and are designed to be supportive, inclusive, and positive spaces for conversation.
Joining is completely optional—think of it as a friendly extra way to stay in touch and be part of the school community.
How to Join
To be eligible, you must be a parent/carer of a child currently enrolled at North Ryde Public School (your name must appear on the enrolment form—membership is verified by the school office for privacy and safety).

Message pcpr@nrps.org.au to be connected to your child’s year group.
Uniforms
Uniforms are sold online through the My School Connect app, proudly run by P&C volunteers. Orders can be placed at any time during the week, and they’ll be packed and delivered directly to your child’s classroom, usually on Friday morning.

Trying on uniforms
For students starting Kindergarten, special uniform fitting sessions are available during the Kindy Orientation Days, typically held in October each year. We will let you know how to pick you your purchased items. Details about these special uniform shop days will be included in your Kindy Starter Pack, provided by the school.

For students starting in other year groups, if you have any questions about the uniform shop or how to use the My School Connect app, just reach out via email—we’re here to help!

View more information about our uniforms on our services page.
Canteen
The North Ryde Public School canteen is proudly run by members of our P&C and operates every Friday.

All orders are placed online via the FlexiSchools app.
The canteen offers a selection of fresh and tasty food options for students.

Get involved
North Ryde Public School is known for its warm, welcoming, and active community—and we’d love for you to be a part of it!

Our Parents & Citizens’ Association (P&C) plays a big role in supporting the school through fundraising, events, volunteering, and services like the canteen and uniform shop. Whether you have a little time or a special skill to offer, there are many ways to get involved.

Here’s how you can connect
-
Find out more about the P&C – Learn what we do and how you can take part.
-
Become a Kindy Class Parent – Help coordinate your class community and support communication.
-
Volunteer your time or skills – From event help to graphic design or gardening, we welcome all kinds of contributions!
Every little bit helps—and it’s a great way to meet other families and feel connected as your child starts their school journey.

Class Parents
At the start of Term 1, you’ll be asked if you’d like to volunteer as a Class Parent.

Class Parents play an important role in building connection and communication within each class. They provide a friendly link between families, class teachers, and the P&C. Whether it’s welcoming new parents, sharing school and P&C updates, or helping coordinate small events and teacher appreciation messages—your involvement makes a real difference in creating a positive and supportive school environment.

You won’t be doing it alone! Our P&C Public Relations contact will support you throughout the year to help you stay informed, connected, and confident in your role.
Tea & Tissues (Kindergarten Only)
Tea & Tissues is a warm welcome for Kindergarten parents.

The P&C hosts a Tea & Tissues event on the first day of school.

Held straight after the Kindergarten parent information session, this special gathering is a wonderful opportunity to meet other parents, connect with P&C members, and reflect on the big milestone.

Parents are invited to relax, chat, and share their feelings about their child’s first day—over a comforting cuppa and morning tea. It’s a supportive space to ease the emotions of the day, ask questions, and begin building relationships within the school community.
